Star Trek

by phadeon on May.09, 2009, under Movies

I saw Star Trek today with two of my friends. I’m not a Trekie so I’m lost on the original story line. The only thing that I noticed was that the black guy that was Wharf wasn’t him. Then I was informed that they are still at war with the Klingons. Overall I thought that the graphics were amazing and I was so glad that I decided to watch it in digital. Movies that have great graphics can only be watched in digital in my opinion. The beginning of the movie drug on a little while, but I guess for the movie to have the plot laid out they had to give enough detail for people like me who never watched Star Trek whenever we were younger. It was very easy to follow along with and had a very good flow throughout the movie. I would definitely recommend the movie, but would for sure tell you to go and see it in digital. I”m now waiting for Terminator Salvation to come out on May 21st. This movie is a long awaited movie of mine.

Absolutely Free

by phadeon on May.02, 2009, under Personal

Why is it that you’re actually only free in your decision making and do exactly what you wanted to do after something tragic happens? It could be something like a friend or family member dying that is close in age to you. You realize then for as long as your brain holds the thought that one day you will die. That even though it’s something that you don’t want to think about it’s going to happen. I’m one of those people who looks at the whole picture. People say that I should stop but I don’t. I look years into the future whenever some people are barely looking at what they’re doing the next day. I worry about dying whenever everyone is worrying if they are going to a party on the weekend. I just wish it was as easy to do what you need to and want to do to make yourself happy as it is whenever your told that your time is limited and your given a date. I guess then you’re in a rush to try to do what you never did to complete what you wanted in life. Why doesn’t everyone wake up every morning and say to themselves, “You’re not going to live till 120, so stop wasting time”? You know that you have a limited time so stop wasting the time you could be doing something that completes you. As I write this I think to myself that I don’t understand why I can’t do this. I have so many projects that I want to complete and I can’t beat myself into submission to start them. I’ve read so many books on motivation and how to be organized and they don’t help. I think that you have to basically tell yourself something and then listen to yourself say it to understand how much of a procrastinator and hypocrite you actually are.

Windows 7 Launch Date Leaked

by phadeon on May.02, 2009, under Computer

According to reports, it looks like Windows 7 will be released October 23, 2009. That’s a few months earlier than Microsoft had publicly committed to, and could mean extra sales for the holiday season. Dell is hoping that this happens as it will probably help their sales that have been hurting the last quarter because of the economy. I’m curious to see if the anti-piracy steps Microsoft is taking will be fixed as the trial version Microsoft released can be turned into a full version. It really doesn’t benefit you that much since it’s only a beta version of Windows 7 and isn’t a complete copy so you will have the bugs still. Microsoft better get on the ball trying to fix the activation crack for Windows 7 before launch day otherwise Bill Gates will be short a yacht or two.

FeedDemon

by phadeon on May.01, 2009, under Computer

I just installed FeedDemon, which if you read RSS feeds I would recommend you install.  It has to be one of the easiest RSS feed readers for any level of computer knowledge. I try to make it simple as I have a few hundred applications install on my computer. I although don’t have time to go to all the websites that I want to be updated from so this application is perfect for me. I just wish that they made this for the Blackberry. Google’s RSS reader for the Blackberry is very difficult to work with at time. And if you’re like me I’m usually staring at some type of screen for more than half a day everyday.
